Rana Dimmig, MSS, MLSP, LCSW

Rana Dimmig is the owner of A New Dawn Psychotherapy Associates, LLC. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. She earned a Masters in Social Service as well as a Masters in Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr. Rana has extensive experience working with adults, couples, children and their families in a variety of clinical settings. She has pursued additional certification and training in trauma, mediation, family issues, and attachment. She performs immigration evaluations and assessments for families seeking fertility assistance.

 

Rana is approved as a provider by many area family courts for co-parent counseling, reunification counseling, and supervised visitation. Her approach centers on the needs of the child or children in helping parents be better able to communicate and coparent over time. Rana facilitates the Coparent Education (COPE) Program for Lehigh, Monroe, and Northampton Counties. The goal of the program is to help parents that may be divorcing or separating, families created solely by the birth of a child, and families spanning multiple generation, improve their communication for the overall benefit of the children.  

 Rana works with clients that struggle with depression, anxiety, grief/loss, life changes, employment issues, interpersonal and relationship problems as well as trauma. She uses cognitive behavioral, narrative, and psychodynamic techniques to help people meet their individual goals for therapy. She has a wealth of knowledge of area services, a solid understanding of court processes to support the client, and knowledge of how to access available resources. Rana believes that problems in relationships and in interaction with the environment can be addressed to improve personal functioning.
